Wish. (poem)

Originally published elsewhere, 04 May 2013.  But it feels like today is good for it to fly, again.
A detour out to the back stoop

a thanksgiving to the big dipper

directly  overhead pouring Ursa’s major graces

in big sloppy invisible pools

Standing waist-deep in the waters of abundance and humility

I pray

for a soul to reach safely to the other side
for protection of those I cherish

for common sense

and uncommon experiences

for unbelievable stories and

unimagined good Love

– no, unimaginable Great Love

shooting stars flair across

the cup handle Hotstruck embers

off a blacksmith’s anvil

forcefully hammering out

again and again
